Dynamic Stability
CORE STRENGTH & BALANCE
Dynamic Stability
The concept of Dynamic Stability, better understood as balance during movement, is key in canine locomotion. Essentially, this involves isometric or stabilizing contraction of core muscles during movement, allowing the limbs and spine to move without a loss of balance. The recruitment or activation of muscles lies under control of the Central Nervous System (CNS). This is also known as Neuromotor Control. When different core muscles no longer function in synergy, dynamic stability is compromised. This leads to a potential risk for injury, due to adapted or compensatory movement, as activation pathways between the CNS and the muscles are altered. Loss of dynamic stability can be caused by a number of factors including age (young or old), injury to a specific body part or a systemic illness.

The canineCCband™ Solution
The canineCCband™ system is unique in its exclusive three-strength design, adapted specifically for the use over the coat of the dog. It can be attached directly to the dog’s harness, or used over single limbs to strengthen specific muscles.
The canineCCband™ system uses proprioceptive stimulation to activate neural pathways of muscles or muscle groups that are weaker or have a reduced activation due to orthopedic or neurological conditions. This is known as proprioceptive retraining. Through different means of attaching the bands onto the body of the dog, different muscles are stimulated, either in combination with static exercises, or when used in movement (re)training.
